My Daily Reflection Entry

In class today it was my day to present and I happen to be the first one to present today.  I was prepared but I wasn’t prepared for the questioned that were being asked.  I feel as if I would’ve really did my notecards right and studied the notes I written then my presentation would’ve been better.  I got so many things mixed up and being in front of a class with everyone looking at you made my train of thoughts very confused and out of order.

Today in class my class presented their projects on current events.  I learned different things that I did not know and all the students in my class presented well today.  They helped me want to go in look up what their topics was and get more into details about their topics.  There were different optics that I did not know were even happening in today’s news and current events because I don’t see them being talked about on my social media accounts but it changed my viewpoint on certain things after learning the information that I did not know.

Well today I did not go to class because I was on a field trip with my science class.  We left the around 8 and we did not come back until 2:15. The field was on the marine life and how they capture every piece of animal that they have at their lab and aquarium.  We also had the pleasure in dissecting a raw squid and on the trip I had I fun and exciting time learning about the different types of species.

Today in class we got the instructions on how to do our PowerPoint.  The instructions are pretty simple and are easy to comprehend after they were explained and made so that we can understand what to do exactly.  This project is pretty simple but the only thing is, is that how well will I do when I actually present the PowerPoint to the class because my topic is pretty controversial and I don’t want to go up there sounding crazy or just informal about the whole presentation.

So today in class we wrote a paragraph about an important event that happened in our lives.  I wrote about my grandfathers funeral and how I couldn’t really deal with it especially because it he was an important figure of my life and how really close he this was for the family.  We were also assigned our project that’s due next Monday or Tuesday.  So I choose the topic of sex trafficking because the project is based on current events and this topic has really been happening all over the world.

Today in class was basically a review day.  We read an essay about how a little boy taught himself how to read and how it helped him in the real world. After we read,  we were assigned to be put into groups and we were asked to make a answer choice for the question given.  I don’t know what happened after that because I got called out of the class for softball meeting.

So today in class we read and answer a passage today.  The purpose of this was so that we can practice how to answer multiple choice question but we suppose to know how to answer questions like those.  We spent the whole class block asking question and we got put into groups, too.  The groups were given to us based on a question and each group got a specific number.  They had to answer the question right and if they did the whole class get that question correct, even if you got it wrong.  But that wasn’t the purpose, the purpose of this was to help understand how to properly use process of elimination when answering multiple choice question.

Today in class we analyzed another Act question and reviewed the prompt.  We broke the information of the introduction paragraph so that we will be able to carefully read and analyze the sources.  We took a position on the prompt given and we used the sources to help us back up our position.  We the sources took us in a different position we had to change it to the position that it lead to.

Class today went good.  We analyzed poems and answered question that goes with the poems.  One of the poems we analyzed was about an unfinished life.  There are three things people tend to worry about before death like how it’s going to happen, when it’s going to happen, and what happens after death.  The poem had a lot of literary devices that helped explained death.

In class today we use skills that could help use when composing a essay for the Act. We talked about a student in our class Thanksgiving break and we had to paraphrase it so that it could be shorten from the persons actually story.  We also learned how to summarize a picture only using one sentence.  We made claims and evidence on the monuments that we reviewed Monday.

We had a sub today and there was no work for us to do.  We were moved over to the next door teacher class and we talked about our perspectives on fairytales.  After that we played a couple of game of charades. But today we a chill and laidback day.

In class today we started to talked about monuments. There was a meaning to why we went over the subject because we had to write a three-point-thesis sentence. I’ve learned from reviewing the word that there are many different monuments in the world that have different meanings and opinions to society. Currently there was an Rosa Parks statue placed in Montgomery, Alabama to recognized and commemorate her.  I also learned that it’s very important to keep up with current events and the news because there is always something going on in the world that might not be able to the public eye or get more entertained than others.
